Bilik Han

Early Mother's Day celebration. Total Spent 126.45 (inclusive of govt tax 6% and service charge 10%).  77.73 - the items I selected. Below are the items we ordered and consumed.

Not shown are
1. braised peanuts (by default this will be served and we did not decline) - on the salty side - RM3
2. A pot of tea for five (Jasmine tea - heong pien) - RM10 (RM2 each per pax)

Goose chessnut pastry RM7 - taste does not go well together - the goose taste is too strong for my liking, the pastry buttery taste does not go well with the goose taste. I can not detect the chest nut.

(O)Yam Pastry RM6 - fluffy but at the end, left a lingering taste of alkaline (sodium bicarbonate).

RM 8 Dumplings has large prawns in it. The soup and vege is nice but the claypot has a hairline crack and soup was seeping out onto the dish below. We did not ask it to be replaced but quickly drank the soup before it was drained completely.

RM8 Prawn dumpling - nice.

RM7 Pork dumplings - the meat is too tightly compressed so it was too firm.

(O) RM7 Dry Scallop Vege Prawn Dumpling - nice but the prawn has a tinge of chlorine taste.

RM8 Ginger Century Egg Pork Dumplings -  The ginger on top has been steamed together with the dumplings. It would taste better if it was not.

(O) RM7 Squid Cake - too salty.
RM 7 Salad Prawn - too salty.

RM8 Deep fried glutinous rice with salty egg and meat - oily and not enough glutinous rice.

RM6 BBQ Pork Buns - acceptable.

(O) RM7 Fish paste dumplings - nice. Best of the lot. Can taste the fish meat.

(O) Carp medalion congee RM10 - too watery and gluey and taste like it has lots of MSG in it. Actually I was very thirsty after this meal although I drank lots of tea. Must be the MSG

Verdict: Our first and last visit to this place but may be back for the fish paste dumplings
